Hello DoctorsHobbies-friends,

This is your FREE monthly DoctorsHobbies.com newsletter for July 2003.

News which came up during the last month, IT WAS A RICH MONTH WITH A LOT OF NEWS,
so I must cut it "short" and forward some stories to August.......

go ahead!

1)
A multi-talent eye-doctor from Chemnitz/Sachsen/Germany, Dr. med. Marion Uhlig

is presenting herself very well with her really neat homepage
www.augenarztpraxis-chemnitz.de though only in German.

Her artistic biography: [Kunst] is:
She is passionate about art as completion of her every-day-life and as joy of the moment.
She is active since 1973, most of all with oil paintings, silk paintings, wax and glass paintings.
Her works have been presented in several exhibitions.
Since 1998 she is working with pottery, too.
Her childrens book "Zweckineck" has been written for her daughter (now 12 years old), but so far it is only available directly from her.
Maybe the negotiations with DoctorsHobbies.com make it possible to integrate it in the shop here in form of a bilingual eBook.
Several poems have been published in an anthology of the editor Herchen who publishes for the German association of writing physicians.

Her pictures: [pictures]

Her pottery: [pottery]

Glass paintings: [Glass painting]

Her book: [book]

Her poems: [poems]

A sample
in German:

Hatschi

Ein Sommerregen leis' und sacht
kam durch die Nacht
getropft,

Neugierig stand ich auf,
lief hinaus
und breitete die Arme aus!

und hat heute morgen
an mein Fenster
geklopft.

Er begrueßte mich,
liebkoste mich,
bis alle Traurigkeit von mir wich!

Und wir tanzten pitschnaßbesohlt -
da hab' ich mir 'nen Schnupfen geholt

2)
First German dragon-boat cup for hospital crews!

Finally here you can see medical doctors with the whole hospital team working!
This is scheduled for 12 July 2003 in Merzig/Saarland in Germany. Who wants to come?

Some more exciting photos at:

and information (in German):

3)
MantraSingingDoc Mohani Heitel from Frankfurt-Main/Germany.

I am really happy that she sent me an e-mail with her contribution because her second profession is more a challenge
and I like her music! You can get her CDs at the CD-shop (and a special offer for ALL CDs is new!)

Click into the center of the mandala to see more!

4) Urologists!

a)
You have seen the Mannheim UroBand? If not you should have a look at RockDocs.
And get their CDs from our online shop.

b)
But now I discovered another artistic aspect of the urologists!
Their very special humour about the tabu zones of the body expresses itself delicately
in the Urologists as artists gallery on the homepage of the German Urologist Association.

They have more than 180 pictures or photos exhibited there!

Recommendable only after a stroll through half of the gallery
one picture for real tough guys here: http://www.urologen.com/uploads/pics/bild-74.jpg
with the text:

"The most important task of man is to understand what it means to be human".

c)
Again the urologists:

Another interesting report from the Deutsches Aerzteblatt: http://www.aerzteblatt.de/v4/archiv/artikel.asp?id=37238

about the Urological museum of the American Urological Association in the USA: http://www.auanet.org/aboutaua/museum_tour/index.cfm

Take a virtual tour!

5)
RailDoc Dietmar Thumm

from Luzern/Switzerland, an eye-doctor has as one of many hobbies
old steam locomotives of the historic Rigi-Bahn.

6) Out-Of-Body-Experiences
reported in the Deutsches Aerzteblatt

"Nahtodeserfahrungen". Though it is in German I want to mention it because of its good example:

http://www.aerzteblatt.de/v4/archiv/artikel.asp?id=37209

As a participant of a workshop with Dr. Eliabeth Kuebler-Ross in 1983 in Holland I am grateful that this theme
is reported in an official medium like the German Aerzteblatt. But to my opinion the immense knowledge Elisabeth has brought us
is still far too little respected and too little integrated in the standard school medicine. As well the work of Dr. Raimond Moody in the same area.

Pooh, that was it!

Yours

Wolfgang E.
